Hi, I'm Karen.
I never imagined that years spent in hospital waiting rooms would become the place where God shaped both my life and my calling. Those seasons taught me that waiting isn't empty, grief doesn't have to be hidden, and hope isn't found in having all the answers. It's found in the God who faithfully sits with us in the middle of our questions.
For fifteen years, I walked alongside my late husband as he lived with Primary Progressive Multiple Sclerosis. Together we sat through doctor's appointments, treatments, long stretches of uncertainty, and countless waiting rooms. Those years taught me that some questions don't have quick answers, some seasons can't be hurried, and hope isn't found by pretending everything is okay.
It is found in the faithful presence of God.
Those waiting rooms changed the way I understand faith, loneliness, relationships, and the quiet courage it takes to keep showing up when life doesn't unfold the way we planned.
Today, I write, speak, coach, and lead retreats for women who find themselves in waiting-room seasons of their own.
Some are caring for someone they love. Others are grieving a loss, navigating an unexpected diagnosis, rebuilding after life’s deepest disappointments, or simply feeling isolated while trying to be "the strong one" for everyone else.
If that's you, I want you to know something: You don't have to carry this season alone.
Whether through a book, a retreat, a coaching conversation, or a message from the stage, my desire is always the same—to create spaces where women experience compassion, connection, and community while discovering the steady presence of God in the middle of their waiting.
Thank you for stopping by.
No matter what waiting room season has brought you here, I'm grateful you're here.
I hope you'll pull up a chair and stay awhile.
Just for fun
